ohhh noooo. I'm seeing NUNGA NUNGA NUNGA again! LOL. Debs u get the joke. oops sry for the delay I've been real busy recently. (doin wat? hahah eating yet again!! -disasterous)
Anw an impromtu trip to Serangoon Gardens led us to the FAMOUS CHOMP CHOMP which makes ur mouth go NOM NOM. MMMMMM....
So off we set, moi n moi fren. 1,2. 1,2,3. We landed on alien paradise.
The fren n I had trouble deciding wat to eat. cos CHOMP's famous for everything but think most famously its Hokkien Mee aka fried prawn noodles & BBQ-ed Stingray. Plus they were quite a few replicas so we weren't really sure which were the famous ones but think every stall is famus there cossss it's CHOMP2. BUTTTTT bcos of my HUMONGOUS, disgusting blister (really it's like 2x S$1 dollar coin in size. eeeks rite?) I suffered from getting too close to the Tuk Tuk car in Cambodia. I hav to abstain from seafood so that it'll double up my recovery time.
We decided sharing Carrot Cake, Wanton Mee (Dry), BBQ chicken Wings & Rojak. Plus shared a BIG "JUG" of Sugarcane juice. (they serve really big glasses as if it were a jug) Nice.
We jus followed our instincts and ordered from stalls we thot were the famous ones. so here goes:
Carrot cake - the first stall to ur left when u face the hawker centre
This was real yummy, with bits of cai po (shredded radish bits) distributed evenly in the egg and rice roll mixture and pan-fried to a certain crispiness. Delectable.Strongly recommended!
Chicken Wings
Look at the glaze on them! oh so delish! doesnt the cook face temptation everyday? HAHA my guess wld be he doesnt cos he faces them EVERYDAY - speak of CHICKEN WING NIGHTMARES! Nonetheless I wldnt mind. HAHA Oh the fren says that on wkends, u need to wait at least, AT LEAST half an hour to 45 mins for ur wings, soooo we were super happy when we ot them 10 mins ltr. SEEEE come on wkdays!
Rojak
Wanton Mee - not really nice but not tt bad either
Dessert - Mango shaved ice with Mango ice cream
Sry, but dessert was a total failure. like Yucks. Idk but mango ice cream doesnt go. Like bananas, as wat the frens say, bananas r jus gd on their own, no fanciful stuff like banana cake, cooked banana. Likewise mangoes are the same. I decided to give the dessert a shot despite remembering my previous encounter which was a combi of mango & strawberry ice. Disappointing. sry. think I'm still looking forward to the ice cream buffet this fri!! :)
